Vitality's new mental health offering

VitalityHealth launches most holistic mental health and wellbeing package in the market

Oct 22, 2018

Vitality's enhanced product provides comprehensive mental health cover across broad spectrum of conditions.

“Mental health is a growing issue, for individuals, employers and providers alike,” says Dr Dawn Richards, Medical Affairs Director at VitalityHealth. “Our core mental health offering, providing up to eight Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or counselling sessions for all members, as well as access to Vitality Healthy Mind, is the strongest in the market. We are now significantly enriching our optional Mental Health module to ensure that our members can have the utmost confidence that they will be supported when they need it most.”

VitalityHealth’s Mental Health Cover will continue to provide members with access to a broad selection of benefits on their Core Cover – including incentives to engage in mindfulness through Vitality Healthy Mind, access to online support through Big White Wall, and the aforementioned CBT and counselling sessions. For members wishing to upgrade to more comprehensive cover, a single Mental Health module will replace the existing two options – providing unlimited CBT and counselling access in-network; a separate £1,500 to be spent on out-patient treatment, such as with a psychologist; and, for more severe cases, 28 days of inpatient treatment.

“Mental health, perhaps more than any other area of healthcare, is one in which no individual’s experience is the same” commented Richards. “We have invested in providing a range of pathways and treatments for our members, to cater for a range of conditions, from stress and anxiety to depression and more severe psychological conditions. In doing so we are providing the most comprehensive end-to-end offering in the market.”
